Delivery was incredibly fast, morning order delivered by lunch. The led tubes weren’t packaged or bundled though, I broke 2 by the time I got home.

Delivery was exceptionally fast even though we are not in one of the ‘main’ delivery areas. Fan was easy to assemble and looks really elegant! The wiring diagram could have had a little more info/detailed explanation instead of just the diagram, but I figured it out. Very happy!

The after sales service is extremely poor. I bought what I thought was 2x ceiling bathroom lights however they were fittings to be attached to a fan. I wanted to exchange it for two other ceiling lights and had no response to my mail not even an out of office to say they were on holiday. I eventually had to send a message to the whats app line and waited quite a long time for a response. I don’t think lighting warehouse is properly geared to online purchases and particularly returns and exchanges.

But way too much packaging. My house was filled with polystyrene and plastic after unpacking the lamp. The environmental impact from the packaging of the lamp is too high. I was actually embarrassed about it.

Perhaps see if your factory can replace polystyrene with either shredded paper, or popcorn, or mushroom packaging etc.

Not a great experience at all. I went onto your website and chatted to one of your consultants, who assured me that the dimmer plate I bought will work with LED lightbulbs. The consultant also told me that the two switches on the dimmer plate is for the same light – One switch will turn the light on and off and the other switch will dim the light. After I received the order, I had to exchange the item because the two switches were for two different lights. I exchanged the item at your Ruimsig branch and the salesperson again assured me that those dimmer plates will work for LED lightbulbs, but after I installed at home it didn’t work. I then went to Chamberlain’s hardware and they told me that I should’ve bought another part together with the dimmer plate for it to work – They then sold me a dimmer plate that worked for the LED lightbulbs. The outdoor plug I bought was also broken and I had to exchange this at the Ruimsig store as well.

Disappointing that the level of knowledge in lights are so poor at a place that specializes in it…

I was very nervous to order a table lamp online without having seen the actual product first so I phoned TLW and was put through to a very helpful person who had actually purchased the same lamp for his son and assured me I could be confident of the quality. At the time of purchase I also made a note that it was essential that I receive a blue one. Upon dispatch I received an email from TLW that the colour had been checked and confirmed. When the lamp arrived by courier I was not at home, the driver offered to bring it to where I was, but I made alternative arrangements. I am absolutely impressed with TLW and their courier. Wow, what a Service, delivery at a blink of an eye.

We bought 5 industrial ceiling fans literally more than 3 years ago, they were good quality fans, but one was either not installed well or just a defective fan and made a hell of a noise when switched on. At that stage we did nothing about the situation and did not report it.

3 years later we took this fan off and took it back to Lighting Warehouse Pretoria. I spoke to the store manager Graeme and he called Richard to assist. I was SO SURPRISED when Richard and a younger employee spent more than an hour fixing this faulty fan and afterwards when we put it up at home…VOILA! It was in perfect working order and working smoothly without a noise.

My order was delivered fast. Really satisfied with the service. The product is amazing.

There was no communication about my delivery which was terribly frustrating. I didn’t receive a call, email or sms till I reached out to the help desk. The zendesk was very accommodating but also gave me incorrect information such as the time of my delivery and whether or not a bulb was included with my lamp. I was told by delivery would come between 1-2 and it only came at 5:30. I was told there was a bulb included with my lamp so I didn’t buy one only to get the lamp and find out there wasn’t one included. At that point it was too late to go out and buy one because all stores were closed. The experience was really terrible and I don’t think I’m going to shop here again.

What a wonderful experience I had!

During the lockdown, our water pipes within our walls, burst. We were stuck with no hot water in the bathrooms of our house for 5 weeks. After the plumbers opened up all our walls to fix the pipes, we had to ‘redo’ the bathroom totally… not by choice!

The only thing is that on your website when I placed the lamp into my ‘shopping bag’ I added two of the bulbs that was recommended to me. But these bulbs don’t fit the lamp I bought and so I have no use for them now.

Your delivery to Cape Town is way too slow and there is no up to date communication about the status of delivery. It’s been 9 days now since you dispatched my package and I have had no delivery not any attempt to contact me either via email, phone or WhatsApp. Compared to other ecommerce business that give constant updates you are lagging very behind.

Great range of different styles but website doesn’t seem to work that well on iPads. I put various fittings on my wishlist and there was nothing to indicate where I can look at my wishlist. Email help was quick but the button that they said is there to access the wishlist was simply not there.

Was going to purchase another from BWH but got very poor service.
I was very surprised to see that LWH had a 20% discount and free delivery, which made it a far better buy.

Purchasing online from the lighting warehouse is the worst online experience I have had with any store for the following reasons:
1. No confirmation that the goods had been shipped.
2. No tracking Number or courier name given.
3. Slow delivery.
4. Courier could not find the house, did not have my number to call and said he was shouted at when he asked the company for my number. Every other courier comes straight to my door, and there are several.

My next lighting order will be from one of your competitors.

The order arrived super fast, so that was impressive. However, the items which included 2 small bulbs in small boxes arrived in a box that was open and damaged. Luckily nothing was stolen and nothing broke, but the fact that those 2 bulbs arrived in one piece is a miracle. This would make me nervous ordering from you again as the order was dropped-off at my neighbour’s place and she had no ways of knowing whether anything was taken out of the box.I think additional packing materials like bubble wrap around bulbs and some filler in big boxes would help because I now have to wait and see until it is installed whether the light fittings were damaged or not…So super fast service, but packaging is an issue.

I recently purchased 4 lights via the Lighting Warehouse online store as I was not able to find any lights suitable for my purpose at home décor stores in Bloemfontein. I needed bedside table lights that are functional (ie heavy and stable enough not to fall over!), look good and are not overly expensive.

Fast and efficient, I’ve purchased twice from them and it happened that the other unit had a factory fault, I reported the issue on Monday to Zanele who was very professional and ensured that she kept me updated, and on Wednesday they delivered the replacement unit. The delivery man was friendly on the phone and face-to-face. However, I was shocked when he handed me a pen and a board with a piece of paper on and asked me to sign.I have received deliveries from Clicks and Woolworth during the nationwide lockdown and neither asked me to sign anything. This will be a very brief review, but it is all positive.
The website and catalogue is well laid out, logical & attractive, and I had no problems finding the lamps I wanted. The checkout & payment section was also easy to follow and intuitive. If I might add just one small observation, the Giancarlo lamp colour in the checkout was white in the picture but labelled as black.

The delivery time to our sleepy little hamlet of Bloemfontein was also remarkably quick- two days if I remember. Although I didn’t track the parcel (I think it actually arrived before the tracking was activated), this was a good feature.

The courier was a cheerful & professional fellow, who obviously enjoys his work. Bloemfontein couriers are notoriously unfriendly, poorly trained and lack communication skills, so your man was a five star agent all round.

The lamps themselves were easy to assemble, look good and are obviously well-designed, as they distribute the light evenly, and the ergonomics are such that you never feel as if you might burn your fingers when adjusting the angle in a casual manner. May I also express my appreciation for the fact that the three I ordered were all discounted to 54%; while I wasn’t bargain hunting (I chose purely on aesthetics), this was the cherry on top of a delicious cake (I don’t even even a sweet tooth, so I hardly ever use that metaphor).

I will certainly make use of the Lighting Warehouse online system in future. To be honest, the website is so well designed that you get the impression of walking into a showroom- there are a few lighting places here in Bloem but the stock is very outdated and the service terrible. As soon as I buy bedside tables I will look for reading lights, and I see no reason to bother with anything except your company.

My experience with this company is not a good one. I placed an order online in July. Received one item damaged. I reported it immediately and they collected it promptly. I contacted the Manager who promised to send the courier the next day with a replacement. It is now end August with three more emails of promises and I still have not received my replacement nor my money back.

Every time I query it then I get the same response that a replacement will be sent the next day.

I am now forced to resort to the ombudsman.

Shopping experience was easy. Delivery was timely and items as ordered and packaged properly. I had one LED downlight fail within a day, which was unfortunate, but such is the nature with lightbulbs. All the others are still working 100%. I will order again in future.

Great LED flood lights, I started using them 2019 and since haven’t had an complaint, out of all the lights I have bought all are still fully functional I recommend. Shipping time is acceptable as well even during this pandemic.

I was not happy with the lamps I ordered; nowhere on the website did it say I had to assemble them myself so it was a mission as the decorative beads were falling off from the string. The white lamp shades I bought were also very dirty so I was not impressed with my purchase. Only 1 lamp met my expectations, it was bigger than I thought so it added that extra touch to my lounge.

Goods were quality and pricing was fair for the outdoor lights that I bought.
Delivery was swift, but the presentations and packaging of the items was terrible – almost dangerous; the box was half open and kept together with cello tape. The contents were not secured with bubble wrap to prevent damage. The items were a bit dirty with brown fingerprint marks all over almost like I was sold demo items.

Terrible!!!! One week and one day passed since I placed my order. One week passed since I received courier detail and still I have not received my order. No one really seems pro-active to find out what is the issue for the delay on my order. I am hoping all bulbs are still in one piece!

The delivery took very long, though. Please arrange with your delivery company to inform the client the morning of delivery that they will be tendering delivery that day. It is of no use to receive a phone call that there is someone at the door with no prior warning, if there is no one home.

Your web site seems comprehensive in that there are many choices. I think you are missing a trick or two though. Firstly, I normally do online shopping on my iPad and the experience around that could be improved a lot. There is a lot of flickering and instability with menus. Secondly , I think you are missing a big cross selling opportunity. The one thing your sales team in-store are really good at – ensuring I walk out the store with bulbs that fit and create the lighting I want. Your light descriptions on the site are very sparse and don’t even tell me if the bulb is screw-in or bayonet. I recently ordered 3 desk lamps from you which arrived promptly without bulbs. Luckily I had some screw-in bulbs that were perfect for them. But if I hadn’t, you wouldn’t have seen that sale as I would have gone to the most convenient solution for me – Builders up the road. You should cross link on your web site from light to bulbs, or bulb range appropriate to the light. You could also help us laymen with more information about light colour. Personally I prefer the warmer end of the spectrum – but I had to google what that was in terms of K because you didn’t help me with that. Don’t regard your web site as a catalogue, help your consumers through the process – try and replicate your in-store experience with your excellent sales staff. Think about using landing pages with examples of the lights rather than menu options. Do consumers know the different labels for your types of outdoor lights, for instance? I am intelligent and educated, but I don’t work in your industry so show me example photos of the various types of outdoor lights with your labels underneath. I will know what I am looking for but I don’t speak your language. Come into my world, don’t force me to learn yours.

I’m pleasantly surprised that we got our parcel the following day and we live in the country! Well done!!

Online shopping was a nice and pleasant experience. More status changes will be appreciated, went from accepted to processing so one is unaware when the delivery will actually happen. Also, seems not all the products are reflected online which I have seen in store. The online assistant is also very nice, helpful and informative

The general service was great, the only challenge is when buying online. I received the wrong items and later when I get the right things the color wasn’t right. But the service was well even when working to correct the mistakes experienced. The service made me forgive them and appreciate them

The website, browsing and pricing is good.
I find the delivery process to be unusually lengthy, as we’re still awaiting delivery of an order from around a week ago where all items were listed as in stock.

The service was great and quick however the poor delivery guy actually asked me to leave a comment saying he has to call each person as the addresses on the parcels is always double and never shows an area. Perhaps make it easier for them giving them complete addresses.

Not a good experience. One of my items didn’t arrive. When I called your office the lady promised to get back to me and never did. I called back the following day and she said she had posted the other item. Not friendly or apologetic. I am still waiting for the item to arrive and have no further communication with courier or your company.

I ordered dimmable and non dimmable LEDs but I received only non dimmable LEDs. I have tried to get in touch with Lightingwarehouse on email and through online chat to no avail. The thing is they now owe me money since there is a price difference between the different LEDs. Anyway let’s see if I get this situation rectified anytime soon.
