I was not happy with the lamps I ordered; nowhere on the website did it say I had to assemble them myself so it was a mission as the decorative beads were falling off from the string. The white lamp shades I bought were also very dirty so I was not impressed with my purchase. Only 1 lamp met my expectations, it was bigger than I thought so it added that extra touch to my lounge.

During the lockdown, our water pipes within our walls, burst. We were stuck with no hot water in the bathrooms of our house for 5 weeks. After the plumbers opened up all our walls to fix the pipes, we had to ‘redo’ the bathroom totally… not by choice!

Hi there! I received my lamp on Monday and am super impressed with its quality and so on. Delivery was also really fast. The only thing is that on your website when I placed the lamp into my ‘shopping bag’ I added two of the bulbs that was recommended to me. But these bulbs don’t fit the lamp I bought and so I have no use for them now.

Placed my order over a weekend. On Monday the delivery driver phoned me as he was at the gate for delivery. Eventually figured out that he was at the billing address and not at the shipping address. Was a bit disappointed, as I had to pick up the items from a store later that day.

The after sales service is extremely poor. I bought what I thought was 2x ceiling bathroom lights however they were fittings to be attached to a fan. I wanted to exchange it for two other ceiling lights and had no response to my mail not even an out of office to say they were on holiday. I eventually had to send a message to the whats app line and waited quite a long time for a response. I don’t think lighting warehouse is properly geared to online purchases and particularly returns and exchanges.

The experience of shopping was easy and simple, but it is e-commerce so not to hard to get right.

The PROBLEM occurred in the delivery. The items were sent to the billing address and not the shipping address. So had to incur my own cost to have items couriered to the correct address.
The service declined further when none of my follow up emails were answered! Come now Lighting Warehouse, sort it out.

The whole process of purchasing light fitting online from you was great – the fittings arrived safely, and a lot quicker than I had anticipated – and they are of an excellent quality, and just what I was looking for.
The only issue was the actual purchasing process online – I was unable to type in a different mailing address, and still process the payment – so in the end your consultant, Zanele Dlamini, who I spoke to when I phoned, sorted it out for me manually, and it was all fine.

There is obviously an error somewhere in the programming of your website, and it wasted quite a bit of my time, trying it several times, all to no avail, and eventually phoning. I REALLY wanted the fittings I had selected, so was prepared to persevere to make sure I got them, but someone else might easily get frustrated with the process, and move on to another supplier.
But your fittings are great, and so was the service you provided!

My online purchase was straightforward and easy. Just hope the goods meet the picture’s standard

Great LED flood lights, I started using them 2019 and since haven’t had an complaint, out of all the lights I have bought all are still fully functional I recommend. Shipping time is acceptable as well even during this pandemic.

Several wrong items delivered, not a great first experience.
When we called to advise this, we were told this due to a backlog. The internal reason does not matter to us, important is how you sort it out.

I was impressed with the range available online and that I was able to find the exact light fittings that I was looking. I appreciated the suggested light bulbs that would fit into the fittings. What impressed me even more was the speed of delivery – I placed the order late on a Monday night and early Wednesday morning the package was delivered. I was very nervous to order a table lamp online without having seen the actual product first so I phoned TLW and was put through to a very helpful person who had actually purchased the same lamp for his son and assured me I could be confident of the quality. At the time of purchase I also made a note that it was essential that I receive a blue one. Upon dispatch I received an email from TLW that the colour had been checked and confirmed. When the lamp arrived by courier I was not at home, the driver offered to bring it to where I was, but I made alternative arrangements. I am absolutely impressed with TLW and their courier. I ordered the Otis floor lamp and a recommended bulb. I received it and I am happy with my purchase. It was easy to assemble and works well.

The delivery took very long, though. Please arrange with your delivery company to inform the client the morning of delivery that they will be tendering delivery that day. It is of no use to receive a phone call that there is someone at the door with no prior warning, if there is no one home.

I found exactly what I was looking for and it was delivered the next day to my house. Excellent service!!

My experience with this company is not a good one. I placed an order online in July. Received one item damaged. I reported it immediately and they collected it promptly. I contacted the Manager who promised to send the courier the next day with a replacement. It is now end August with three more emails of promises and I still have not received my replacement nor my money back.

Every time I query it then I get the same response that a replacement will be sent the next day.

I am now forced to resort to the ombudsman.

I ordered one of your Bertie Lamps which was on a Black Friday special. It arrived damaged. The box was damaged and when I opened up the lamp to check, I found it was damaged to. The base of the lamp has three large dents in it. That means it was bashed or dropped badly at least three times. I need to return this lamp. I purchased the same Bertie desk lamp a few months ago, in a different colour and it also arrived damaged and not in an acceptable state. I had to return it as well. Your delivery service needs be to able to deliver products without damaging them. I have stopped using other services like Takealot for the same reasons. You have a good selection of lights and some friendly staff but you need better policies and checks in place to deliver safely.

Goods were quality and pricing was fair for the outdoor lights that I bought.
Delivery was swift, but the presentations and packaging of the items was terrible – almost dangerous; the box was half open and kept together with cello tape. The contents were not secured with bubble wrap to prevent damage. The items were a bit dirty with brown fingerprint marks all over almost like I was sold demo items.

I ordered dimmable and non dimmable LEDs but I received only non dimmable LEDs. I have tried to get in touch with Lightingwarehouse on email and through online chat to no avail. The thing is they now owe me money since there is a price difference between the different LEDs. Anyway let’s see if I get this situation rectified anytime soon.

Ordering from your website was great. The emailed query I had about the products to be purchased was answered the next day and delivery to Cape Town was 3 days after I placed the order. I have just placed another order.

Not the best experience I had with a company. First I receive a broken item. Then when trying to report the broken item the QR code doesn’t work, phoned in only to hear that I must send an email then why tell people you have three ways to report a broken item if there is only one way. Then there is a delay when reporting the broken item for an answer. When someone finally answered the person never even apologized but was curt. Lastly I try the online chat to try and find out when the replacement item will arrive only to be queue position 1 for half an hour so that is obviously also not working. In these uncertain times and tough business times you need to give the best client service and this was never done here. I’m very unhappy with the service I received and only want my replacement item so that I don’t have to use this company again.

Fast processing and offered delivery within a day of ordering.
Issue though:
Online website shopping. The search function is useless.
Took me quite a maze to get to led globes.
1. Search Globes and you find yourself looking at pendant lights for the bedroom.
2. Search Led globes and you get shown complete light units that’s got nothing to do with the actual globes.
3. Search downlighters and the same happens.
No reference to the downlighter globes or fittings.
Very frustrating.
Had the same experience each time I made use of the search function in the past as well.
Reference words programmed on the website should be broadened to include words we as the public actually use describing the type of things related to lighting.
If you don’t use the exact wording “globe packs” it’s a wild goose chase finding them using “globes” or “Led downlighters”.
Luckily I found reference to globe packs and it jogged my memory and that is where I found my globes/lights.

Easy payment process though the payment (think through upay) took some time(around 4-5 minutes). Looking forward to delivery of our pendants!

But way too much packaging. My house was filled with polystyrene and plastic after unpacking the lamp. The environmental impact from the packaging of the lamp is too high. I was actually embarrassed about it.

Perhaps see if your factory can replace polystyrene with either shredded paper, or popcorn, or mushroom packaging etc.

Purchasing online from the lighting warehouse is the worst online experience I have had with any store for the following reasons:
1. No confirmation that the goods had been shipped.
2. No tracking Number or courier name given.
3. Slow delivery.
4. Courier could not find the house, did not have my number to call and said he was shouted at when he asked the company for my number. Every other courier comes straight to my door, and there are several.

My next lighting order will be from one of your competitors.

The Lighting Warehouse – the online experience was a good one. The website was easy to navigate, the payment was quick and the confirmation email was prompt. I unfortunately have not received my goods yet so I cannot comment on that.

I was most impressed. I went to the closest shop to look at the lights and decided on a few. I needed to “run these” passed the other members of my family. I went home and logged onto the online website, we all looked at the products. One particular light was chosen. I ordered 5 of these light fittings and they arrived at my house the next morning. I really don’t think you can do better than this. Certainly better than me having to go back to the shop and buy the fittings.

Unfortunately the order has still not been delivered (10days later).
No delay notifications or other communications until I queried it yesterday. Suddenly it will be delivered same day, which also failed

Your delivery to Cape Town is way too slow and there is no up to date communication about the status of delivery. It’s been 9 days now since you dispatched my package and I have had no delivery not any attempt to contact me either via email, phone or WhatsApp. Compared to other ecommerce business that give constant updates you are lagging very behind.

I had no problem with ordering and receiving my lampshade, all went smooth and I am very happy with my shade, the only thing is that the one side of the shade is dented maybe it has to be protected better in transport? Not sure if it was the transport to me or to the warehouse from your supplier.

1. 2x of the LED Tubes were shattered when they arrived at my house (probably happened in delivering it to me.
2. All the Tubes are warm white and not “COOL WHITE” as I ordered them.

We bought 5 industrial ceiling fans literally more than 3 years ago, they were good quality fans, but one was either not installed well or just a defective fan and made a hell of a noise when switched on. At that stage we did nothing about the situation and did not report it.

3 years later we took this fan off and took it back to Lighting Warehouse Pretoria. I spoke to the store manager Graeme and he called Richard to assist. I was SO SURPRISED when Richard and a younger employee spent more than an hour fixing this faulty fan and afterwards when we put it up at home…VOILA! It was in perfect working order and working smoothly without a noise.
