I did not realise that there was a choice of colours and did not see any options. I had wanted black lamps and received bronze. It so happens that the bronze will still work and am happy to keep what i have received. Other than that I have been happy so far.

Well considering I still haven’t received the product I paid for this review isn’t great….

The whole process of purchasing light fitting online from you was great – the fittings arrived safely, and a lot quicker than I had anticipated – and they are of an excellent quality, and just what I was looking for.
The only issue was the actual purchasing process online – I was unable to type in a different mailing address, and still process the payment – so in the end your consultant, Zanele Dlamini, who I spoke to when I phoned, sorted it out for me manually, and it was all fine.

There is obviously an error somewhere in the programming of your website, and it wasted quite a bit of my time, trying it several times, all to no avail, and eventually phoning. I REALLY wanted the fittings I had selected, so was prepared to persevere to make sure I got them, but someone else might easily get frustrated with the process, and move on to another supplier.
But your fittings are great, and so was the service you provided!

It’s been 9 days now since you dispatched my package and I have had no delivery not any attempt to contact me either via email, phone or WhatsApp. Compared to other ecommerce business that give constant updates you are lagging very behind.

The experience for retail customers in this industry is usually terrible, so I must commend you for your world-class service and user experience. I was most impressed. I went to the closest shop to look at the lights and decided on a few. I needed to “run these” passed the other members of my family. I went home and logged onto the online website, we all looked at the products. One particular light was chosen. I ordered 5 of these light fittings and they arrived at my house the next morning. I really don’t think you can do better than this. Certainly better than me having to go back to the shop and buy the fittings.

I ordered one of your Bertie Lamps which was on a Black Friday special. It arrived damaged. The box was damaged and when I opened up the lamp to check, I found it was damaged to. The base of the lamp has three large dents in it. That means it was bashed or dropped badly at least three times. I need to return this lamp. I purchased the same Bertie desk lamp a few months ago, in a different colour and it also arrived damaged and not in an acceptable state. I had to return it as well. Your delivery service needs be to able to deliver products without damaging them. I have stopped using other services like Takealot for the same reasons. You have a good selection of lights and some friendly staff but you need better policies and checks in place to deliver safely.

I certainly won’t order from The Lighting Warehouse again, this is my second online order and just as disappointing as the first. My first order comprised of two chandeliers which were ordered for the same room, when they arrived the end piece (ceiling cap) differed and now I have two identical chandeliers in the same room with a different ceiling caps. Not the end of the world but every time I am in the room it annoys me. Just shoddy quality control!! My second order was placed on the 15 October and it still hasn’t arrived. The courier apparently only delivers to Hopetown once a week! Good heavens, we have The Courier Guy, Pargo, Paxi and Takealot who deliver here daily. This isn’t the dark ages, online shopping is the norm. I will never order from The lighting Warehouse again, it’s been awful.

Great service! Found exactly what we were looking for, namely black electrical wall plugs. Also very impressed with fast same day delivery. Lightning Warehouse will always be my first choice for lights etc.

The after sales service is extremely poor. I bought what I thought was 2x ceiling bathroom lights however they were fittings to be attached to a fan. I wanted to exchange it for two other ceiling lights and had no response to my mail not even an out of office to say they were on holiday. I eventually had to send a message to the whats app line and waited quite a long time for a response. I don’t think lighting warehouse is properly geared to online purchases and particularly returns and exchanges.

The light shades I ordered arrived and the delivery went well. I did however also order two large globes, which weren’t delivered.

I have yet to receive my order, it shipped over a week ago. I was told it would arrive this afternoon, I had someone at home the whole afternoon and it didn’t arrive. The courier tracking facility sent to me doesn’t work so I cannot even see what is going on. Not great after such great specials. Thanks

I recently purchased 4 lights via the Lighting Warehouse online store as I was not able to find any lights suitable for my purpose at home décor stores in Bloemfontein. I needed bedside table lights that are functional (ie heavy and stable enough not to fall over!), look good and are not overly expensive.

I received exceptional personalised service from the Web team from start to finish, communication as to where we were in the process, and as a great surprise, a discount coupon! I requested that delivery be delayed as we were away for a while. All worked perfectly. Lights were packed securely and I am thrilled with the purchase!

My experience with this company is not a good one. I placed an order online in July. Received one item damaged. I reported it immediately and they collected it promptly. I contacted the Manager who promised to send the courier the next day with a replacement. It is now end August with three more emails of promises and I still have not received my replacement nor my money back.

Every time I query it then I get the same response that a replacement will be sent the next day.

I am now forced to resort to the ombudsman.

My experience was not great. The delivery was efficient but the incorrect globes were delivered.
I had to run around trying to see which are the correct globes, which the centurion store have been kind enough to rectify for me, however despite them trying to source the globes I still do not have the correct globes and I currently sit with INCORRECT globes which I paid for.

I ordered the Otis floor lamp and a recommended bulb. I received it and I am happy with my purchase. It was easy to assemble and works well.

The delivery took very long, though. Please arrange with your delivery company to inform the client the morning of delivery that they will be tendering delivery that day. It is of no use to receive a phone call that there is someone at the door with no prior warning, if there is no one home.

My recent online shopping experience with The Lighting Warehouse has been superb. This is my second purchase with them, online, and I have been extremely satisfied on both occasions. The process, from selecting the product, placing the order, payment and delivery as been flawless and super quick. Thank you Lighting Warehouse for your amazing service.

Easy online purchase, next day delivery!

I placed an order on Monday 3 May for light bulbs & one standing lamp. I checked the tracking number provided but after the 4th of May, there we no new updates. I made contact on Monday 9 May in the morning, via the online chat, and was asked to send my email address and that there would be follow-up made.

End of day on Monday, I had still not received feedback so again I contacted you via the online chat. I was then given confirmation that the order would arrive on Tuesday 10 May.

It arrived on Tuesday 10 May, but once we opened the box, saw that our light bulbs were enclosed, but that a wrong light fitting was dispatched. Again I followed up and your online agent swiftly replied and assured me that he would remedy the situation. The wrong light would be collected and the correct one delivered, hopefully today.

The agent did indeed dispatch our lamp on 10 May, so we are awaiting confirmation from the courier as there has been no further updates on the tracking site. We completely understand a mistake creeping in, I am just frustrated by the lack of communication & the tracking site that does not seem to provide regular updates. Last update was on the 10th, so not sure if it is indeed out for delivery today.

Terrible!!!! One week and one day passed since I placed my order. One week passed since I received courier detail and still I have not received my order. No one really seems pro-active to find out what is the issue for the delay on my order. I am hoping all bulbs are still in one piece!

Shopping experience was easy. Delivery was timely and items as ordered and packaged properly. I had one LED downlight fail within a day, which was unfortunate, but such is the nature with lightbulbs. All the others are still working 100%. I will order again in future.

absolutely love your range. Only thing is when shopping on my phone if I select a light to see more I get bumped back to the beginning again each time I leave that light.
Also, I was very disappointed as placed my last order, then only afterwards saw the ads re birthday sale, and now that light is less R250 a week later.

lights delivered damaged for the second time. Needed to drive to the nearest store to do the exchange. Very disappointing

I was impressed with the range available online and that I was able to find the exact light fittings that I was looking. I appreciated the suggested light bulbs that would fit into the fittings. What impressed me even more was the speed of delivery – I placed the order late on a Monday night and early Wednesday morning the package was delivered. But way too much packaging. My house was filled with polystyrene and plastic after unpacking the lamp. The environmental impact from the packaging of the lamp is too high. I was actually embarrassed about it.

Perhaps see if your factory can replace polystyrene with either shredded paper, or popcorn, or mushroom packaging etc.

I was not happy with the lamps I ordered; nowhere on the website did it say I had to assemble them myself so it was a mission as the decorative beads were falling off from the string. The white lamp shades I bought were also very dirty so I was not impressed with my purchase. Only 1 lamp met my expectations, it was bigger than I thought so it added that extra touch to my lounge.

Process and delivery was good. One bulb did not work which was not good.

I called the Head Office to check stock, and Zanele Dlamini, who answered the phone, was exceptionally helpful. She quickly checked the stock, and offered to deliver to me upon payment. This was a fantastic experience! Well done Lighting Warehouse and especially Zanele!!

Overall a good experience; I like your products, happy with the way it is presented in the WEB pages, easy to find what I’m was looking for. The queries was very quickly answered via emails. Place my order was easy and multiple options of ways to pay… One of them was freaking me our as I had to enter very personal pins and passwords on a site that I newer used before… but I flip out and don a straight EFT from my bank… a system that I trust.

A very easy website to navigate, love that you give examples of which globes to use with each product and that I can order the globes with the product. We waiting for our delivery, not arriving as fast as our previous order but this is a very big order so understandable that it would take a bit longer.

Outstanding service. My order was placed Monday afternoon and delivered by a super friendly gentleman (Lennox) this morning.

The ordering process went smoothly and Naas quickly replied to my emails.

The delivery man was friendly on the phone and face-to-face. However, I was shocked when he handed me a pen and a board with a piece of paper on and asked me to sign.I have received deliveries from Clicks and Woolworth during the nationwide lockdown and neither asked me to sign anything. Thankfully I had put on a mask and glove so felt a bit more assured. This spoiled what had, up until then, been a great experience.

My online/purchase experience for The Lighting Warehouse was absolutely deLIGHTful.

There was no communication about my delivery which was terribly frustrating. I didn’t receive a call, email or sms till I reached out to the help desk. The zendesk was very accommodating but also gave me incorrect information such as the time of my delivery and whether or not a bulb was included with my lamp. I was told by delivery would come between 1-2 and it only came at 5:30. I was told there was a bulb included with my lamp so I didn’t buy one only to get the lamp and find out there wasn’t one included. At that point it was too late to go out and buy one because all stores were closed. The experience was really terrible and I don’t think I’m going to shop here again.

Not a great experience at all. I went onto your website and chatted to one of your consultants, who assured me that the dimmer plate I bought will work with LED lightbulbs. The consultant also told me that the two switches on the dimmer plate is for the same light – One switch will turn the light on and off and the other switch will dim the light. After I received the order, I had to exchange the item because the two switches were for two different lights. I exchanged the item at your Ruimsig branch and the salesperson again assured me that those dimmer plates will work for LED lightbulbs, but after I installed at home it didn’t work. I then went to Chamberlain’s hardware and they told me that I should’ve bought another part together with the dimmer plate for it to work – They then sold me a dimmer plate that worked for the LED lightbulbs. The outdoor plug I bought was also broken and I had to exchange this at the Ruimsig store as well.

Disappointing that the level of knowledge in lights are so poor at a place that specializes in it…

Purchasing online from the lighting warehouse is the worst online experience I have had with any store for the following reasons:
1. No confirmation that the goods had been shipped.
2. No tracking Number or courier name given.
3. Slow delivery.
4. Courier could not find the house, did not have my number to call and said he was shouted at when he asked the company for my number. Every other courier comes straight to my door, and there are several.

My next lighting order will be from one of your competitors.

Goods were quality and pricing was fair for the outdoor lights that I bought.
Delivery was swift, but the presentations and packaging of the items was terrible – almost dangerous; the box was half open and kept together with cello tape. The contents were not secured with bubble wrap to prevent damage. The items were a bit dirty with brown fingerprint marks all over almost like I was sold demo items.

There is a definite missing link between the sight and the delivery service.

I left a very clear delivery address, with instructions – and after 3 phone calls the delivery service is eventually on the right track.

The part of the form that allows for additional instructions also does not work.

On speaking with the delivery dispatch officer he said the copy of the waybill they have has no instructions.

The Lighting Warehouse – the online experience was a good one. The website was easy to navigate, the payment was quick and the confirmation email was prompt. I unfortunately have not received my goods yet so I cannot comment on that.
I would recommend that first make sure the goods ordered is delivered before you ask for a review.

The Lighting Warehouse has huge selection of many different lamps, the website is easy to navigate, it’s easy to place an order and quick for the order to arrive. It is my number one choice when shopping for a lamp. However, I wish there were more contemporary, modern designer lamps available. But there seems to be a lack of those in South Africa in general.

Hi there! I received my lamp on Monday and am super impressed with its quality and so on. Delivery was also really fast. The only thing is that on your website when I placed the lamp into my ‘shopping bag’ I added two of the bulbs that was recommended to me. But these bulbs don’t fit the lamp I bought and so I have no use for them now.
