I placed an order on Monday 3 May for light bulbs & one standing lamp. I checked the tracking number provided but after the 4th of May, there we no new updates. I made contact on Monday 9 May in the morning, via the online chat, and was asked to send my email address and that there would be follow-up made.

End of day on Monday, I had still not received feedback so again I contacted you via the online chat. I was then given confirmation that the order would arrive on Tuesday 10 May.

It arrived on Tuesday 10 May, but once we opened the box, saw that our light bulbs were enclosed, but that a wrong light fitting was dispatched. Again I followed up and your online agent swiftly replied and assured me that he would remedy the situation. The wrong light would be collected and the correct one delivered, hopefully today.

The agent did indeed dispatch our lamp on 10 May, so we are awaiting confirmation from the courier as there has been no further updates on the tracking site. We completely understand a mistake creeping in, I am just frustrated by the lack of communication & the tracking site that does not seem to provide regular updates. Last update was on the 10th, so not sure if it is indeed out for delivery today.

The PROBLEM occurred in the delivery. The items were sent to the billing address and not the shipping address. So had to incur my own cost to have items couriered to the correct address.

I am renovating a new house purchased, and ordered quite a few lights from The Lighting Warehouse. Service and application was smooth and seamless, delivery on time, and no worries in this regard, so I could focus on other matters wrt renovations, thank you, really a great experience!

I was most impressed. I went to the closest shop to look at the lights and decided on a few. I needed to “run these” passed the other members of my family. I went home and logged onto the online website, we all looked at the products. One particular light was chosen. I ordered 5 of these light fittings and they arrived at my house the next morning. I really don’t think you can do better than this. Certainly better than me having to go back to the shop and buy the fittings.

The whole process of purchasing light fitting online from you was great – the fittings arrived safely, and a lot quicker than I had anticipated – and they are of an excellent quality, and just what I was looking for.
The only issue was the actual purchasing process online – I was unable to type in a different mailing address, and still process the payment – so in the end your consultant, Zanele Dlamini, who I spoke to when I phoned, sorted it out for me manually, and it was all fine.

There is obviously an error somewhere in the programming of your website, and it wasted quite a bit of my time, trying it several times, all to no avail, and eventually phoning. I REALLY wanted the fittings I had selected, so was prepared to persevere to make sure I got them, but someone else might easily get frustrated with the process, and move on to another supplier.
But your fittings are great, and so was the service you provided!

You over exceeded my expectations. Super fast delivery. Will only buy lights this way in future. Your shop experience was very disappointing so this was a welcome difference. 10 out of 10.

My experience was not great. The delivery was efficient but the incorrect globes were delivered.
I had to run around trying to see which are the correct globes, which the centurion store have been kind enough to rectify for me, however despite them trying to source the globes I still do not have the correct globes and I currently sit with INCORRECT globes which I paid for.

Everything ran as smoothly as possible. Website was easy to use and the delivery arrived quickly up here on the West Coast. Best of all I just love my new bright yellow desk lamp. Absolutely brightened up my lockdown!

We bought 5 industrial ceiling fans literally more than 3 years ago, they were good quality fans, but one was either not installed well or just a defective fan and made a hell of a noise when switched on. At that stage we did nothing about the situation and did not report it.

3 years later we took this fan off and took it back to Lighting Warehouse Pretoria. I spoke to the store manager Graeme and he called Richard to assist. I was SO SURPRISED when Richard and a younger employee spent more than an hour fixing this faulty fan and afterwards when we put it up at home…VOILA! It was in perfect working order and working smoothly without a noise.

Great range of different styles but website doesn’t seem to work that well on iPads. I put various fittings on my wishlist and there was nothing to indicate where I can look at my wishlist. Email help was quick but the button that they said is there to access the wishlist was simply not there.

I called today 21 may 2020 and reported it.
I was hoping someone would call me back to confirm that the correct product was dispatched
I had to call again at 15:45 21 May to confirm it was dispatched. Not good service

Goods were quality and pricing was fair for the outdoor lights that I bought.
Delivery was swift, but the presentations and packaging of the items was terrible – almost dangerous; the box was half open and kept together with cello tape. The contents were not secured with bubble wrap to prevent damage. The items were a bit dirty with brown fingerprint marks all over almost like I was sold demo items.

Dear staff of the Lighting Warehouse,

This will be a very brief review, but it is all positive.
The website and catalogue is well laid out, logical & attractive, and I had no problems finding the lamps I wanted. The checkout & payment section was also easy to follow and intuitive. If I might add just one small observation, the Giancarlo lamp colour in the checkout was white in the picture but labelled as black.

The delivery time to our sleepy little hamlet of Bloemfontein was also remarkably quick- two days if I remember. Although I didn’t track the parcel (I think it actually arrived before the tracking was activated), this was a good feature.

The courier was a cheerful & professional fellow, who obviously enjoys his work. Bloemfontein couriers are notoriously unfriendly, poorly trained and lack communication skills, so your man was a five star agent all round.

The lamps themselves were easy to assemble, look good and are obviously well-designed, as they distribute the light evenly, and the ergonomics are such that you never feel as if you might burn your fingers when adjusting the angle in a casual manner. May I also express my appreciation for the fact that the three I ordered were all discounted to 54%; while I wasn’t bargain hunting (I chose purely on aesthetics), this was the cherry on top of a delicious cake (I don’t even even a sweet tooth, so I hardly ever use that metaphor).

I will certainly make use of the Lighting Warehouse online system in future. To be honest, the website is so well designed that you get the impression of walking into a showroom- there are a few lighting places here in Bloem but the stock is very outdated and the service terrible. As soon as I buy bedside tables I will look for reading lights, and I see no reason to bother with anything except your company.

I ordered 2 standing lamps in a sale and are delighted with the quality and style of the product. Azzaro lamps. First time I have ordered from Lighting Warehouse via Internet with excellent service and delivery.

Not a great experience at all. I went onto your website and chatted to one of your consultants, who assured me that the dimmer plate I bought will work with LED lightbulbs. The consultant also told me that the two switches on the dimmer plate is for the same light – One switch will turn the light on and off and the other switch will dim the light. After I received the order, I had to exchange the item because the two switches were for two different lights. I exchanged the item at your Ruimsig branch and the salesperson again assured me that those dimmer plates will work for LED lightbulbs, but after I installed at home it didn’t work. I then went to Chamberlain’s hardware and they told me that I should’ve bought another part together with the dimmer plate for it to work – They then sold me a dimmer plate that worked for the LED lightbulbs. The outdoor plug I bought was also broken and I had to exchange this at the Ruimsig store as well.

Disappointing that the level of knowledge in lights are so poor at a place that specializes in it…

The service was great and quick however the poor delivery guy actually asked me to leave a comment saying he has to call each person as the addresses on the parcels is always double and never shows an area. Perhaps make it easier for them giving them complete addresses.

I was very nervous to order a table lamp online without having seen the actual product first so I phoned TLW and was put through to a very helpful person who had actually purchased the same lamp for his son and assured me I could be confident of the quality. At the time of purchase I also made a note that it was essential that I receive a blue one. Upon dispatch I received an email from TLW that the colour had been checked and confirmed. When the lamp arrived by courier I was not at home, the driver offered to bring it to where I was, but I made alternative arrangements. I am absolutely impressed with TLW and their courier. I did not make an expensive purchase, but it was an important one to me, and I can unreservedly recommend the product quality and service that TLW offer.

Several wrong items delivered, not a great first experience.
When we called to advise this, we were told this due to a backlog. The internal reason does not matter to us, important is how you sort it out.

The relief of knowing that Lighting warehouse will deliver as soon as absolutely possible, is wonderful.

Third party courier company is very unorganised and has poor service delivery. According to the tracking page the package was out for delivery on 28/11/2022, and I had to phone the Lighting Warehouse to track the parcel.
The company then let me know that it is out for delivery on 01/12/2022 – but it was never delivered.
I followed-up the next day, and the same lady told me that the parcel only arrived at the depot the previous evening and it will be delivered on the 02/12/2022. Needless to say – I ended up driving all the way to a Makro where the driver had been to physically pick up the parcel from him. Their online tracking system is useless – stating a package is out for delivery on the 28th already. Really pathetic delivery service.

Tracking and customer service said goods would be delivered to Wednesday . Electrician arranged late afternoon – no delivery …… excuse couldn’t find address?? Thursday delivery before 11:00?? pm delivery and only 1 of the lights instead of 3 shipped ! Idiots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your web site seems comprehensive in that there are many choices. I think you are missing a trick or two though. Firstly, I normally do online shopping on my iPad and the experience around that could be improved a lot. There is a lot of flickering and instability with menus. Secondly , I think you are missing a big cross selling opportunity. The one thing your sales team in-store are really good at – ensuring I walk out the store with bulbs that fit and create the lighting I want. Your light descriptions on the site are very sparse and don’t even tell me if the bulb is screw-in or bayonet. I recently ordered 3 desk lamps from you which arrived promptly without bulbs. Luckily I had some screw-in bulbs that were perfect for them. But if I hadn’t, you wouldn’t have seen that sale as I would have gone to the most convenient solution for me – Builders up the road. You should cross link on your web site from light to bulbs, or bulb range appropriate to the light. You could also help us laymen with more information about light colour. Personally I prefer the warmer end of the spectrum – but I had to google what that was in terms of K because you didn’t help me with that. Don’t regard your web site as a catalogue, help your consumers through the process – try and replicate your in-store experience with your excellent sales staff. Think about using landing pages with examples of the lights rather than menu options. Do consumers know the different labels for your types of outdoor lights, for instance? I am intelligent and educated, but I don’t work in your industry so show me example photos of the various types of outdoor lights with your labels underneath. I will know what I am looking for but I don’t speak your language. Come into my world, don’t force me to learn yours.

Online experience was good, admittedly so many choices it can become confusing. Is it possible to increase the categories? Payment experience was good, as was communications around delivery.

The package itself was disappointing. There were dirt marks on the lampshade, which were covered by plastic wrap.

Great. Only suggestion is for notification prior to delivery as had no indication when it was going to be.

We received the lamps and shades without delay and in good condition. Unfortunately, one of the lamps does not have the lock ring that keeps the shade in place. It will be appreciated if you can get the lock ring sent to us. Maybe you need to review your quality control procedure at the point of packing.

Very happy with the speedy delivery to Hout Bay. The base of the silver desk lamp is dented at the edge and the packaging was damaged I guess it was dropped. The order arrived super fast, so that was impressive. However, the items which included 2 small bulbs in small boxes arrived in a box that was open and damaged. Luckily nothing was stolen and nothing broke, but the fact that those 2 bulbs arrived in one piece is a miracle. This would make me nervous ordering from you again as the order was dropped-off at my neighbour’s place and she had no ways of knowing whether anything was taken out of the box.I think additional packing materials like bubble wrap around bulbs and some filler in big boxes would help because I now have to wait and see until it is installed whether the light fittings were damaged or not…So super fast service, but packaging is an issue.

Issue though:
Online website shopping. The search function is useless.
Took me quite a maze to get to led globes.
1. Search Globes and you find yourself looking at pendant lights for the bedroom.
2. Search Led globes and you get shown complete light units that’s got nothing to do with the actual globes.
3. Search downlighters and the same happens.
No reference to the downlighter globes or fittings.
Very frustrating.
Had the same experience each time I made use of the search function in the past as well.
Reference words programmed on the website should be broadened to include words we as the public actually use describing the type of things related to lighting.
If you don’t use the exact wording “globe packs” it’s a wild goose chase finding them using “globes” or “Led downlighters”.
Luckily I found reference to globe packs and it jogged my memory and that is where I found my globes/lights.
